The first stage of this course is focused on teaching pronunciation where vowels, consonants, and rules of pronunciation are concerned. The second stage of this course is centered on grammar where sentence structures are basic in training and practicing, as well as basic knowledge of grammar.

 On completing this course, the students will be able to listen intensively and extensively, and to express themselves properly. It helps the students to build up their vocabulary and provide them with an introduction to some relevant background knowledge. It also enables the students to comprehend and make simple conversations. This course is divided into three phases. The phase of pronunciation aims at enabling the students to master the basic phonetic rules of Korean language with emphasis on the acquisition of pronunciation of letters and words through active intensive listening, as well as the actual practice of pronunciation and sound differentiation. This course aims at enhancing the students’ capacity of intensive listening and extensive listening, and improving their ability to express properly. It also helps the students to enlarge their vocabulary and increase their background knowledge, and enables them to comprehend and make ordinary conversations. This course is divided into three phases.
