Beijing Language and Culture University—Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
 “0.5+5.5” and “1+5” Cooperate programs
 “0.5+5.5” and “1+5” cooperation programs are operated by both Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM). Students are able to join this program every fall semester.
Program Information：
（1）“0.5+5”Program
For the first half year, students will study with preparatory courses in BLCU. If they finish all required courses and pass all courses, they will transfer to BUCM.

（2）“1+5”Program
For the first year, pre-undergraduate students will study preparatory courses in BLCU. If they finish all required courses and meet completion requirement, they will award pre-undergraduate certificate offered by BLCU and transfer to BUCM.

Students who accomplish first half year in BLCU are able to join the second semester in BUCM; students who have pre-undergraduate certificate are able to choose majors from BWU and join the second year of undergraduate program without any examinations. Your credits earned in BLCU can be transferred to BUCM. After you finish all the required courses in BUCM and meet graduation requirement of BUCM, you can award bachelor degree and graduation certificate from BUCM which is authorized by Ministry of Education of P.R. China.
If students want to drop this program for personal reasons, they need to submit a written application to BLCU before the middle of June and they do not need to enroll in BUCM.

Application Materials For Preparatory Program
1.        Academic diploma: a photocopy of the applicant’s latest academic diploma or certificate of university education;
2. Academic record: the original transcript of academic record (copies are not acceptable);
3. Reference letter from the applicant's former teacher；
4. A photocopy of the applicant’s passport;
5. A photocopy of the ID of the applicant’s emergency contact (the person you specified on the second page of the current form);
6. A photocopy of HSK certificate;
7. A photocopy of the application fee payment receipt (for on-line payment or T/T transfer).
Fee
Application Fee：800 RMB/person;
Tuition for Preparatory Courses in BLCU：26,000 RMB/year；
Application and Practice Cost: 8,800 RMB/year;
Tuition for Undergraduate Courses in Chinese of BWU：35,000 RMB/year
Tuition for Undergraduate Courses in English of BWU：45,000 RMB/year
Scholarship
BUCM has a wide spectrum of scholarships to encourage foreign students (including new students) with excellent academic performance to apply. It includes Chinese Government Scholarship and Beijing Foreign Students Scholarship. In addition, BUCM offers a yearly scholarship.
BUCM continues to offer a new Undergraduate Freshman Scholarship, and the criterion for application is as follows.
1.      A Successful New Level 4 HSK candidate exempt from Entrance Examination is required to sit for the Entrance Examination, and then is eligible for Scholarship.
2.      Preparatory Program students are required to sit for the Entrance Examination to be eligible for Scholarship.
