1. Objective
The program relies on the major plus foreign language (plus minority language) training model of the university, and implements the broad-caliber, thick foundation, high quality, complex talent training concept, and strives to cultivate innovative spirit and the ability to co-ordinate and adapt, and can serve the national diplomatic strategy of internationalization complex talents, international, complex, applied foreign affairs personnel and specialists with theoretical foundation, expertise, practical operation ability and policy analysis ability, as well as with a global perspective, and can serve in international organizations, national sentiment, and the foreign affairs industry. The program aims to cultivate international, complex, and applied foreign affairs talents and specialists with theoretical foundation, specialized knowledge, practical operation ability and policy analysis ability, as well as international civil servants and global governance talents who can engage in practical operations and management in international organizations and international economic sectors with global vision and national sentiment. The training model of major plus foreign language (plus minority language) is implemented in the training of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and international students is major plus Mandarin/Chinese. The Department is committed to cultivating international students who are professional, fluent in Chinese, and knowledgeable in Chinese, in order to serve the overall situation of the unification and prosperity of the motherland and the friendship between China and foreign countries.
2. Duration
A. For Professional Courses:
(1) During the period of master study, candidates shall take at least 32 credits of courses, including 15 credits of major courses and at least 9 credits of professional elective courses; (2) Graduate students in international economics and politics shall take at least 32 credits of courses, including 15 credits of major courses and at least 9 credits of professional elective courses.
(2) Graduate students of international economics under the direction of international economics and politics shall take at least 32 credits, including 15 credits of major courses and at least 9 credits of professional elective courses.
B. For Public Compulsory Courses:
(1) The public compulsory courses for mainland master's students are ideological and political theory and the first foreign language, totaling 8 credits. (2 credits), Marxism and Social Science Methodology (2 credits), and First Foreign Language (English) (4 credits).
(2) Master's students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan may take General Introduction to China (2 credits).
(3) The compulsory public course for international master's students is General Introduction to China (2 credits).
3. Requirements for research ability and dissertation
Basic requirements of scientific research ability and level
Before they start writing, students should obtain the ability of publicly publishing paper. The shall have a clear sense of the topic, a rigorous outline structure and a literature review that can reflect the academic frontier.
Requirements for practical activities
Students should participate in social practice, innovation and entrepreneurial activities, and participate in the management and teaching of the university as an assistant manager or assistant teacher, meet the requirements set by the major, and receive 2 credits after passing the assessment of the training unit.
Basic Requirements for Dissertation
(including the requirements of academic level, creative achievements and workload, etc.)
(1) The basic arguments, conclusions and proposals of the dissertation have certain theoretical significance or practical value; they should show that the author has indeed mastered a solid theoretical foundation and systematic expertise in the discipline, and has new insights into the subject under study, and has the ability to engage in scientific research or take up independent specialized technical work.
(2) The dissertation work is completed independently under the guidance of the supervisor and is the result of the graduate student's personal participation in scientific research.
(3) The graduate student has a good grasp of the research methods and skills of the discipline and specialty.
(4) After the dissertation topic is determined, the time for completing the dissertation should generally be about one academic year.
(5) The dissertation shall be presented in a smooth, concise and accurate manner, and the conclusion shall be drawn in a factual manner, and the quotation of other people's information or conclusion shall be explained.
