4. Aim and Scale:
With English as the basic foreign language, Spanish as the second foreign language, and French or Japanese as the third foreign language, the major aims to cultivate high-quality multilingual talents who are international, broad-caliber, humanistic spirit, innovative and critical thinking ability and cross-cultural communication ability.
(1) Have good humanistic quality, innovative consciousness, cooperative spirit and enterprising spirit.
(2) Be fluent in English as the medium of communication tools and research ability, strengthen basic daily communication and study the potential at the same time, and have comprehensive and solid basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation.Have strong ability of language use, systematically grasp the basic knowledge of language and literature and basic principles, master the basis knowledge and research methods, havethe ability to workin international communication, foreign cooperation, foreign trade, cultural propaganda and teaching and research, etc.
(3) Teaching Objectives of English-Spanish:
① The pronunciation is correct and the intonation is natural.
② Have solid practical ability of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating.
③ Have a wide range of professional knowledge of Spanish and related disciplines, understand the culture and national conditions of Spanish speaking countries.
④ With the ability to acquire and use knowledge, the ability to analyze problems, the ability to put forward opinions independently and innovation ability.
5. Program Structure:
(1) Course credits: 171credits. Among them, 38 credits are compulsory public courses, 12 credits are general courses, 48 credits are compulsory foreign language courses, 57 credits are professional compulsory courses, foreign language elective courses and professional elective coursesare 20 credits in total;
(2) Total class hours: 2852 class hours;
(3) Total weeks of teaching: 128 weeks;
(4) Graduation thesis: 7 weeks, 4 credits;
(5) Graduation thesis schedule: from the end of semester 7 to the end of May of semester
6. Requirements for graduation:
Any student with official school status shall, within the prescribed length of schooling,
(1) Abide by the school discipline and pass the standards in moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic aspects;
(2) Complete the courses stipulated in the teaching plan, obtain qualified or above scores, and obtainthe total credits of the courses that meet the graduation requirements;
(3) Complete the graduation thesis, participate in and pass the defense of the graduation thesis. Graduation is granted after examination and verification by the teaching committee and degree committee of the school.
