This course is to inform students of basic PR knowledge: the beginning and development of PR in its modern times, the institutions for PR and the working procedure of PR. Emphasis will be given to discussions regarding practice and techniques in handling the PR, such as the organization, image analysis, image design, self-promotion and application of potential development. Contents may also include the definition of PR, its constituents and features, the functions of PR, the training, examining and managing of PR practitioners, the basic patterns of PR managing. It will also touch upon the implementation of PR research, PR planning and PR communication. This course is to inform students of basic PR knowledge: the beginning and development of PR in its modern times, the institutions for PR and the working procedure of PR. Emphasis will be given to discussions regarding practice and techniques in handling the PR, such as the organization, image analysis, image design, self-promotion and application of potential development. Contents may also include the definition of PR, its constituents and features, the functions of PR, the training, examining and managing of PR practitioners, the basic patterns of PR managing. It will also touch upon the implementation of PR research, PR planning and PR communication. What’s more, students also need to know how public relations may be realized, e.g. through news reports, charity work, press conferences, ceremonies, expos, polls, visits, awards and speeches, etc. as well as to know the significance and implementation of these activities.

It aims to teach students how to better examine and appreciate literature works and enhance their ability to understand traditional Chinese culture.   On the whole, classes will be conducted through lectures by the teacher , which may be followed by discussions among students.
