International students who have attained HSK Level 4 or above in the “Chinese Language Level Standard for International Chinese Language Education”.
IV. Cultivation Objectives and Specifications
(I) Cultivation Objectives
This major trains senior Chinese translators with excellent comprehensive quality to meet the needs of the modern international society, and they can engage in advanced Chinese translation and simultaneous interpretation in foreign affairs, China-related trade, cultural exchanges and other fields.
(II) Cultivation Specification
1. Students shall systematically master professional knowledge of Chinese pronunciation, vocabulary, syntax and other aspects, and be proficient in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating.
2. Students shall systematically know and understand China's society, history and culture.
3. Students shall master the basic theories, methods and skills of Chinese-foreign translation and oral and written translation.
4. Students shall have excellent translation literacy and cross-cultural communication skills.
5. Students shall be proficiency in computer programming language, reasonable application of machine translation technology, understanding the work flow of language service industry and Internet industry, and strong project management ability. (Orientation of Translation Localization)
V. Basic Framework of Cultivation Program
(I) Course Credits for Graduation: 140 credits. Among them, 16 credits for general education courses, 22 credits for internship and practice, 32 credits for basic disciplinary courses, 26 credits for major compulsory courses, 36 credits for major elective courses and 8 credits for graduation thesis.
(II) Total Credit Hours: 2112 class hours.
(III) Total Number of Teaching Weeks: 121 weeks.
(IV) Graduation Thesis (Internship/Practice Report): 6 weeks, 8 credits.
(V) Time Arrangement for Graduation Thesis (Internship/Practice Report): From the end of the seventh semester to the end of May of the eighth semester.

VII. Main Practice Links and Time Arrangement
Internship: 4 weeks, 22 credits, in the seventh semester.
Graduation Thesis (Internship/Practice Report): 6 weeks, 8 credits, in the eighth semester.
VIII. Graduation Requirements
Students with formal status who have passed the examinations/assessments of the courses they have studied and obtained the credits stipulated in the teaching plan within the prescribed academic year will be granted graduation and a diploma will be issued.
IX. Award of Certificate or Degree
A bachelor's degree will be awarded to those who pass the defense of the graduation thesis (internship/practice report) and receive 8 credits.
