III. Training Object

International students whose Chinese proficiency has reached HSK level 4 or above (including level 4) of the "Chinese Language Proficiency Standards for Speakers of Other Languages".

IV. Training Objectives and Specifications

(I) Training Objectives

The major is aiming at cultivating talents have a solid Chinese language foundation, good humanistic quality and broad global vision. They will be able to be familiar with modern Chinese society, politics, economy, international relations, literature and art, receives systematic education in relevant theories, development history and research status of Chinese science, grasps China's national strategy, culture, foreign policy and other policies after study. They may have humanistic feelings and international sense of responsibility, and can be competent in relevant international organizations, public relations, international exchanges, global governance, etc. or in domestic and foreign cultural communication institutions. They will have the chance to become senior professionals in foreign-related administrative departments and foreign-related enterprises and institutions who are competent in cultural exchanges with foreign countries.

(II) Training Specification

1. Have solid basic knowledge of Chinese language, have reached a high level in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, and be able to proficiently use Chinese to obtain professional information and conduct written and oral business communication.

2. Have a relatively systematic knowledge of Sinology and Chinese studies and a certain level of Chinese cultural literacy, familiar with China's political, economic, social conditions and cultural policies.

3. Have a broad international vision and humanistic literacy, and have a certain understanding of international affairs, international organizations and international rules.

4. Have the ability to engage in the exchange and dissemination of Chinese culture, as well as the language and professional skills for further study.

5. With correct values and good professional ethics, strong learning ability, organizational management ability, innovation ability and team spirit, able to effectively conduct team cooperation in the work.

V. Basic Framework of the Training Programme

(I) Course Credits for Graduation: 158 credits. Among them, 80 credits for Discipline Basic, 24 credits for Elementary Courses, 24 credits for Compulsory Course, 18 credits for Elective Course, 2 points for General Elective Course, 6 credits for Dissertation and 4 credits for Internship.

(II) Total Class Hours: 2,368 class hours.

(Ⅲ) Total Number of Teaching Weeks: 128 weeks.

(IV) Dissertation (Graduation Design): 6 weeks, 6 credits.

(V) Time Arrangement of Dissertation (Graduation Design): from the end of the seventh semester to the end of May of the eighth semester.

VII. Main Practice and Time Arrangement

Internship: 4 weeks, 4 credits, scheduled on the seventh semester

Dissertation (Graduation Design): 6 weeks, 6 credits, scheduled for the eighth semester

VIII. Graduation Requirements

Students with formal status who have passed the examinations/assessments results of the courses studied and obtained the credits stipulated in the cultivation plan within the prescribed school system will be granted graduation and a diploma will be issued.

IX. Award of Certificate or Degree

Bachelor of Arts degree will be awarded to those who pass the Dissertation (Graduation Design) defense with 6 credits.
