It is generally four years.

III. T Training Object

International students with Chinese Language proficiency scales for Speakers of Other Languages above “International Standards of Chinese Language Proficiency” HSK Level 4.

IV. Training Objectives

The program cultivates talents with sound Chinese language basic knowledge, skills and good humanistic quality, extensive Chinese humanistic knowledge, outstanding international vision and cross-cultural accomplishment, strong Chinese expression ability and high aesthetic level, strong language research ability, translation ability, interdisciplinary knowledge accomplishment, full of problem awareness, thinking and innovation ability, social responsibility and humanistic feeling, who can engage in teaching, translation, secretarial, research and other work by using the Chinese language or engage in the Chinese-foreign cultural exchanges at the Chinese language publicity institutions, management departments, enterprises and public organs all over the world.

V. Training Specification

1. With sound basic theoretical knowledge of Chinese language, humanistic knowledge and high-level comprehensive skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation; Be qualified with Chinese thinking ability and basic ability to use professional knowledge to find, analyze and solve problems.

2. Master the basic research methods of linguistics, understand the basic research paradigms and tools in linguistics, and be able to design and carry out relevant work by combining the theories, principles and frontier technologies of linguistic information processing.

3. Master the basic methods of literature retrieval and data query, understand the theoretical frontiers and development trends of the discipline, and be able to continuously acquire new knowledge and scientific research ability.

4. Master broader humanistic knowledge, have an international vision and cross-cultural communication ability, be familiar with international affairs, and understand international organizations and international rules.

5. Have good general literacy, have a certain understanding of humanities and natural science knowledge such as politics, economy, culture and art, with higher humanistic literacy and scientific spirit.

6. Be qualified with correct values and good professional ethics, have strong learning ability, thinking ability, organizational management ability, communication ability, innovation ability and team spirit, and can effectively carry out team work.

7. Physical and mental health, good living habits, healthy physique, good psychological quality, potential for continuous learning and self-development, and strong adaptability to social environment.

VI. Basic Framework of the Training Programme

148 credits in total.

12 credits for general courses, 64 credits for specialized compulsory course, 44 credits for elective courses, and 30 credits for internships, training and scientific research.

The total class hours of the course are 2368.

VII. Graduation Requirements

All students, who are officially enrolled in the university, have completed the courses specified in the teaching plan, obtained above qualified scores, obtained the required course credits for graduation, observed the school discipline, and qualified in all aspects of moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic performance, are approved to graduate after the examination and appraisal of the teaching committee of the college and the academic degree committee.

VIII. Certificate and Degree Award

Upon meeting the requirements for graduation, you will be awarded the Chinese Language Certificate of Chinese Language and Literature, and the Bachelor's Degree Certificate after passing the dissertation defense. Students who minor in other majors are consist with the requirements for graduation and degree conferment will obtain the minor diploma and degree certificate.

IX. Course Overview

The course includes 7 modules: Language Theory Module, Language Skills Module, Language Teaching Module, Literature and Culture Module, Language and Technology Module, Practical Experience Module, and Shared Course for Bachelor's and Master's Degrees Module.

1. The Language Theory Module includes Modern Chinese, Ancient Chinese, Introduction to Linguistics, Introduction to Speech Communication, Introduction to Chinese Characters, Chinese Pronunciation, Chinese Vocabulary, Chinese Grammar.

2. The Language Skills Module includes College Chinese, Classical Learning Guide, Classical Reading, Chinese Listening, Chinese Reading, Spoken Chinese, Chinese Writing, Colloquial Idioms, Fundamentals of English-Chinese Translation, English-Chinese Interpretation Skills, Modern English Communication, English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation.

3. The Literature and Culture Module include Chinese Ancient Literature, Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature, Chinese Philosophy, Chinese History, Human Geography of China, Chinese Folk Custom, Chinese Idiom Culture, Selected Reading of Chinese Ancient Classics, International Politics.

4. The Special Chinese Module includes China's Economy and Society, Principles of Economics, International Trade Theory and Practice, Introduction to World Economy, Business Negotiation Practical Training, Special Discussion on China's Economy, Marketing, Secretarial Practice, Human Resource Management, Public Relations, Overview of China's Economy, Economic Guide.

5. The Language and Technology Module includes Information Technology Foundation, New Media Practice, Data Science Foundation, Language Engineering Practice, Data Visualization, Big Data Application Practice, Chinese Communication Virtual Simulation Experience, Information Technology Retrieval and Computer Application.

6. The Practical Experience Module includes Chinese Teaching Practice, Chinese Cultural Experience, Appreciation and Practice of Drawing, Chinese Characters and Calligraphy, Ancient Poetry and Modern Singing, Chinese Kung Fu, Guzheng, Chinese Painting, Project-based Language Practice, Social Study and Research, Experience of China.

7. The Shared Course for Bachelor's and Master's Degrees Module includes the courses of Understanding Contemporary China, China's National Conditions, Study of Modern Chinese Grammar, Study of Modern Chinese Vocabulary, Study of Modern Chinese Function Word, Cross-cultural communication, Chinese-foreign Language Contrast and Nationalization Research, Chinese International Communication Research, Chinese Textbook Research, Chinese Mediated Language Corpus Research.
