Ⅰ. Program Introduction
In order to deepen the academic friendship and mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign young generation, and to build a platform for the international exchanges and cooperation of young talents, China Scholarship Council (CSC) has established the China Link Scholarship Program for international students and faculties hoping to engage in academic and research activities in China.
Ⅱ. Program Scheme
1. Funding Categories
General scholar: applicable to current undergraduates or master students.
Senior scholar: applicable to current Ph. D students or faculties
2. Duration
1-12 months
Start study in China no later than August 31, 2025.
3. Working Language
Chinese
4. Study/Research Fields:
Chinese Language and Literature, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, International Economy and Trade, etc. Please refer to Attachment 2 for the list of majors.
Ⅲ. Funding
Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship from CSC during their stay in China, including a tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for general scholars; CNY 3,500 for senior scholars).
Ⅳ. Eligibility
1. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, good moral character and academic excellence, be in good health, both mentally and physically.
2. Be under 45 years of age when applying for general scholars.
Be under 50 years of age when applying for senior scholars.
3. Be registered as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff at CSC’s foreign partner universities at the time of application and throughout their proposed stay in China.

4. Have received either the admission notice or the invitation letter issued byBLCU.
Ⅴ. Application Procedure
1. Applicants should contact BLCU by email(admissions1@blcu.edu.cn), submit the application materials, to obtain pre-admission notice.
2. Applicants should log into the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) to complete CSC online application and upload supporting documents. For the online application guide, please refer to Attachment 3.
3. Application deadline (based on Beijing time)
July 5, 2024 (September 2024 admission)
October 5, 2024 (First batch of admission in March 2025)
February 5, 2025 (Second batch of admission in March 2025)
4. Result notification time
Mid-August 2024 (September 2024 admission)
Mid-November 2024 (First batch of admission in March 2025)
Mid-February 2025 (Second batch of admission in March 2025)
5. BLCU will notify the scholarship admission results to applicants.
VI. Online Application Documents
1. BLCU Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form for China Link Program (Attachment 4)
2. A copy of the applicant’s passport home page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (from the start of the class, the validity period is calculated to be at least 6 months or more), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application;
3. Certificate of study or employment.
4. Academic transcripts (not required for in-service Chinese language teachers )
5.Certification of language ability (HSK score report, ELTS, TOEFL, etc.) It is recommended that applicants have a certain level of Chinese, otherwise it may affect the class effect. ( Please refer to Attachment 2 for the Chinese proficiency required for each major.)
6. Study or research plan in China (no less than 500 words)
7.The photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form. (The original copy will be kept by applicant and the form is uniformly printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments and it must be written in English.) The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
8.Non-criminal certificate. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

1.Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
2.Please send the above documents to admissions1@blcu.edu.cn to get the pre-admission notice.
VII.Other Tips
1. Applicants for this program do not need to pay the application fee.
2.Scholarship holders must complete the registration according to the schedule specified by BLCU. Scholarship will not be retained for those who fail to register for no reason before the deadline and they will be disqualified for admission.
3. In principle, the scholarship holders shall not change the admitted institution, the major and duration of study.
