As a university with distinctive international characteristics, Beijing Language and Culture University has established partnerships with 280 universities and institutions from more than 50 countries and regions around the world. In order to cultivate multiple talents with international perspectives and to enhance the school’s efforts on discipline construction and the establishment of its core values as a modern university, BLCU pays much attention to Sino-foreign joint trainings of degree students, joint school-running, student exchange programs, cultural and personnel exchanges, overseas education and overseas semester programs.



BLCU attaches great importance to the cooperative cultivation of degree students. On the basis of its negotiations with outstanding overseas universities, the school has developed a number of well-targeted programs with unique subject features and viable training modes.

Some of the programs are as follows:

♦ the 2+2 dual-degree Japanese language programs with Hokuriku University, Japan

♦ the 2+2 dual-degree Japanese language programs with Teikyo University, Japan

♦ the 2+2 dual-degree German language program with Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, Germany

♦ the graduate dual-degree programs with George Mason University, America

♦ the graduate dual-degree programs with Western Kentucky University, America

These co-hosted programs provide undergraduate and graduate students at BLCU with various opportunities to study abroad and become diplomats of well-known overseas universities, in turn improving their competitiveness for their future jobs.



In order to encourage excellent students to study abroad to improve their academic standards and broaden their international horizons, BLCU has developed and carried out student exchange programs in larger scales and higher levels. More and more colleges and institutes from different countries are seeking cooperation with BLCU, and the number of foreign languages and specialties involved is increasing. So far, BLCU has already established cooperative programs with many overseas universities, including:

♦ Huron University College, Canada;

♦ University of Birmingham, UK;

♦ Curtin University of Technology, Australia.

Through these programs, students made progress in their studies, enhanced their understanding of foreign cultures and improved their cross-cultural communication abilities.
