Application Guide for Beijing Language and Culture University 2021 Specific Online International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship
For the purpose of satisfying the new situation and the growing demand of the international community for Chinese language teachers and facilitating Chinese language education in other countries, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) will continue with the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.
According to the Center's International Chinese Language Teachers' Scholarship Online Program Management Regulations and related documents, we are now releasing the Application Guide for Beijing Language and Culture University 2021 Specific Online International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship as follows.
1.Eligibility
All applicants shall be:
non-Chinese citizens;
in good physical and mental conditions, and with good academic performance and conduct;
committed to the Chinese language education and related work;
between the ages of 16 and 50 (as of September 1st, 2021). The age requirements can be relaxed for programs below one semester in length.
2.Program Introduction, Application Requirements, and Application Materials
(1) Specific Online International Chinese Language Teachers ScholarshipProgram
We accept applications for the Program from recommending institutions. The number of applicants shall be no less than 15; the study periods can be one semester, one academic year, or between four weeks and six months; the target group shall be Chinese learners or local Chinese teachers, and the subjects include but are not limited to Chinese international education, Chinese language, and Chinese language and literature. (2) Application Requirements
Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study (Online)
The program commences in March 2022.
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score. Score reports are valid for two years.
Applicants shall have a high school diploma or above.
Scholarship for One-Semester Study (Online)
The program commences in March 2022.
Applicants shall have an HSK score. Score reports are valid for two years.
Applicants shall have a high school diploma or above.
Short-term Specific Training (Online)
The length of the program can be decided by the recommending institution according to the actual needs and should be between four weeks and six months.
The enrollment date can be arranged flexibly.
Applicants shall have an HSK score. Score reports are valid for two years.
(3) Application Materials
The programs shall be applied in groups, and the recommending institution shall submit the following materials to BLCU when applying. Please submit separately if applying for programs with different lengths.
A.Information Form for BLCU Specific Online International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Program Application (Not necessary for applicants for the one-semester and one-academic-year programs unless specifically requested)
B.Specific Online Scholarship Application Form and its required attachments, including HSK score reports and recommendation letters issued by the head of the recommending institution
C.Scanned copies of the photo page of passport or ID card of all students within the validity period
D.Highest academic certificate (or proof of graduation expectation)of all applicants.
E.In-service Chinese teachers shall provide a certificate of employment or a letter of recommendation from the institution.
F.In-service Chinese teachers can be exempted from providing HSK scoresif they provide a certificate of employment or a letter of recommendation from the institution.
3.Scholarship Coverage
The Online International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship provides full coverage on tuition fees and a Chinese Proficiency Test fee for the corresponding level.
4.Application Procedures
From now on, the recommending institutions can first organize and plan the application by filling out the Information Form for BLCU Specific Online International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Program Application and theSpecific Online Scholarship Application Form as attached, and send back the forms together with required documents to cisblcu@blcu.edu.cn. Please name the email title as Specific Online Program + Recommending Institution. Please note that the list of applicants should be the same as the list of participating students, in case of special circumstances, individual students are allowed to withdraw before the start of the course, however it is not acceptable to add students who are not on the reported list. BLCU will be responsible for submitting the application to the Center, and will design and arrange the corresponding courses according to the needs of the recommending institution.
Deadlines for Application (Beijing time):
For programs commencing in March, student applications must be completed before November 10, 2021.
After approval by the Center, BLCU will contact the recommending institution to inform the applicants to attend the corresponding courses.
5.Others
Please refer to the BLCU student admission official site http://admission.blcu.edu.cn for curriculum and course listings.
Those who fail to register on time, drop out midway and/or are suspended from school will be deprived of their scholarship.
Applicants can only apply for one type of scholarship provided by the Chinese government during the same study period. Repeated applications are considered invalid and the scholarship will be cancelled once confirmed.
